What I do:
I am a fourth year doctoral student in the department of Writing, Rhetoric, & American Cultures. I consider myself an interdisciplinary scholar, studying interpersonal communication, narratives, emotion, and prejudice.

Who I am…
I enjoy being in nature (ask me about my sandhill crane impersonation, or about my experience watching their migration gathering/”staging” area through a telescope in Michigan!). I sing to express myself, to play, and to relieve stress. Roller dancing is not dead. I love music, and am slowly, slowly learning to play the guitar and the mandolin. I also love to play with stories; improv is a way of life. I once took an improv class in Minneapolis with my mother, and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life (and couldn’t beat the company; my mom is funny af). I also love watching movies, which I often integrate into my teaching. Movies are stories connected to individual and cultural stories on deep levels….plus they give us (me) all of the feels.
